Educated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Lottie currently lives and works in York, UK.
Maintaining a practice located outside of a particular disciplinary or pigeon hole, Lottie's work is ultimately focused on realising potentialities through the working of materials. Materials often include (but are not limited to) physical locations, Cypriot rocks, video footage from YouTube, dinosaurs, overheard conversations in Starbucks, 80's TV shows, and modern philosophical theory. In a controversial time of invasive global technologies making the world a seemingly smaller, more connected place, her work often embraces new media: focusing instead on its ability to access new and unfamiliar virtual worlds. Rather than subsidising our first-hand experience of the world around us, utilising such materials aims to enhance it with new possibilities.
Illustration and design projects to date have included work for Turning Point Brew Co, UCISA (Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association), the University of York, and a fantastic spoken word poet.
Lottie is founder of an artist collective based in York, and has curated and promoted several small exhibitions, showing both work of her own and of artists around the UK.
